Cleaning…
Why remove EXIF?
Photos taken on phones and cameras carry hidden EXIF metadata: the exact GPS coordinates where the shot was taken, the device model, serial numbers, and timestamps. When you post or send a photo, that data often travels with it. This tool removes it before you share.
For JPEG and PNG, OddConv strips the metadata segments directly from the file bytes — the actual image data is never re-compressed, so there is no quality loss. Other formats are re-encoded to guarantee a clean result.
Frequently asked questions
What metadata gets removed?
All EXIF, GPS location, XMP, IPTC, and comment metadata is stripped. The image pixels themselves are untouched.
Does removing EXIF reduce image quality?
No. For JPEG and PNG the metadata is removed losslessly — the compressed image data is preserved exactly, so there is zero quality loss.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Metadata is stripped entirely in your browser. Your photos never leave your device — which is exactly what privacy demands.
