About this tool

This viewer reads metadata locally with exifr (for images) and pdf-lib (for PDFs). Nothing is uploaded. Photos can carry surprising amounts of hidden information — GPS coordinates, camera serial numbers, edit history — and PDFs often embed author names and the software that produced them. If you find something you'd rather not share, use Remove EXIF to strip it.

Frequently asked questions

What files can I inspect?

Images (JPG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF, WebP) reveal EXIF, GPS, and XMP data. PDFs reveal title, author, producer, and creation dates.

Does it show GPS location?

Yes. If a photo contains GPS coordinates, they are shown along with a link to view the location on a map.

Is my file uploaded?

No. All metadata is read locally in your browser. Your file is never uploaded to any server.
